I drove to Eugene yesterday to see my spiritual director and to have breakfast with Chad. On the way back, I had to stop for construction on the North Fork bridge. So I made a sketch of this flagger while I waited. When I got home I colored it.

Paul came to see us today. It's a very exciting time in his life because he just graduated from Oregon Institute of Technology with a degree in computer programming and he's looking for his first real job. He interviewed with a company last week and they gave him a computer problem to solve. He was working on it at his parents' house when the electricity went out. So he came over to our house to finish it up. He got it done and sent it in by e-mail. Within an hour he got a request to come in for a second interview. He was pretty pleased about that. How wonderful to share his successes!
This sketch makes him look too short....actually he's much taller.
