This is the house we're renting in Silverdale. It's an old farmhouse with a couple of acres of pasture, but it's only half a block from a busy highway and a crowded strip mall. We love the house and the old feel to it, and we just pretend the strip mall's not there. Katy has a garden and I have a place in the barn for my wood shop.
I finally got a few minutes to do a sketch of the church. It's a nice Saturday morning but I've got a memorial service to do this afternoon. In the meantime I made this loose sketch.

One of the glories of Seattle is the Pike Street Market. It's a delightful jumble of old shops and stalls with restaurants, flowers shops, vegetable vendors, and art galleries. I wandered around until I got tired and then had a cup of coffee and made this sketch of the little alley between shops.
As part of my introduction to the diocese, I went to a meeting of "Fresh Start", a program designed to help clergy with the transition into a new parish. I left from the Bremerton ferry Terminal early in the morning. Here's a sketch of the ferry dock and loading ramp.
