Thanksgiving Day at Margo's

We spent Thanksgiving with Katy's sister, Margo, who lives in the mountains above the Columbia River Gorge. Chad and Brittany joined us, as well as Guy and his friend, Cori. Here's a watercolor of Margo's house in the snow.

Diocesan House

From the ferry terminal, I walked through downtown Seattle on a beautiful clear autumn day. I felt so good  being in the pulse of the city. I grabbed bus #49 just as it was leaving Third and Pike, which got me to the Diocesan House about 15 minutes early (gasp). So I stood outside and made a pencil sketch of the lovely old building. After the meeting I stayed to add watercolor.

Seattle skyline

Yesterday I was again on the ferry to go to a meeting of the clergy association board (I love riding the ferry!). As we came in view of the Seattle skyline, I made a quick sketch.

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard

To get to Convention, I took the ferry and the light rail. While I was waiting for the ferry to arrive in Bremerton, I made this quick sketch of the steel yard for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard next to the ferry terminal.

Diocesan Convention

Last Friday and Saturday I attended the annual convention of the Diocese of Olympia. It involved a lot of sitting in meetings, so I made some sketches as I listened. Above is the convention hall; below are some interesting faces.
