JKPP Herman Schouwenburg

I made this watercolor of Herman from this photo. My colors are ghastly...kind of appropriate for Halloween, I guess!

Marie again

I wasn't happy with the shape of Marie's head in my last portrait, so I did another portrait with crayon. Much better likeness this time.

Tracyton garage

When I came home the other day, the old Tracyton Hall was gone! There was a big excavator resting after a day of demolition. It seems strange to have an empty space where the old hall stood. It was the town hall of this area for many years, although it had fallen into a decrepit condition.

Life Drawing October 18

Today I attended my fourth session of life drawing class. These are the best of the drawings I made.

Homework at Starbucks

I couldn't help but smile at this mother with her two small girls in Starbucks today. The second-grader was diligently doing her homework while her little sister scribbled on paper and scampered around the table. The mom let her daughter do her homework, but she kept a close eye on her and helped when necessary. Sweet.

Michael King for JKPP

Made this portrait of Michael King for Julia Kay's Portrait Party from this photo.

Friends at Starbucks.

Made this sketch of some friends talking over their coffee in Starbucks.

Busker

While I was having a cup of coffee outside Blackbird Bakery in Bainbridge Island, this busker came up and started singing. He had a nice husky voice and sang some good songs.

Life drawing session October 4

Made these paintings today at life drawing class in Bainbridge Island. Our model gave us some great poses, and I really enjoyed trying to get proportions right and adding watercolor. I think this is my favorite for the day because I got the proportions about right.

JKPP Tim Flanagan

St. John's Episcopal Church, Gig Harbor

I attended a workshop at St. John's Episcopal Church in Gig Harbor yesterday. Made this sketch during the lunch break.

Starbucks 10-01

Made this sketch at Starbucks. He was intent on his laptop, occasionally laughing at the screen.
