Lessa lying down

This was my best drawing at life drawing class today. We had four men and four women in addition to our model. Just about right for everyone to get a good view.

It's very challenging to draw the human figure when reclining. The foreshortening is difficult to capture.

JKPP Dario Garces

I sat down tonight and drew this portrait from this photo. Took me probably 45 minutes. I think I'm getting more comfortable with these portraits, at least it seems like I can get the basic features more quickly and I have a little more confidence.

Brownsville Marina

I late afternoon, I went down to Brownsville Marina. There's a lot of activity there, people coming and going to the docks, hanging out in the store. I made this watercolor, sitting on a bench by the store,

Barn on Paulson Road

Today I drove to Paulson Road and made this watercolor of an old barn. The property is pretty rundown and almost deserted so it is a great place to paint. Kind of chilly.

JKPP Frinklan

I made this portrait of Frinklan from this photo.

Life drawing November 15 again

This drawing turned out pretty well. One of the other artists suggested that I smudge the graphite to make it softer. I like the way that turned out.

Life drawing session November 15

I made this drawing in life drawing today. I was happy with the proportions.

JKPP Tobias Zipperle again

I made another portrait of Tobias, from this photo.

I enjoyed watching these two friends across from each other at a table at Starbucks.

Big hair in Starbucks

This woman has a very interesting face so I tried to capture it in a sketch.

St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Bainbridge Island

The fall colors are just a little past their peak right now, and it was a splendid fall day. After life drawing class I made this watercolor of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church on Bainbridge Island. Tomorrow a big storm is moving in and I'm sure all the leaves will be blown off the trees.

Isaac in life drawing class 2

There were six of us at life drawing class today -- three men and three women, from maybe 40 to 70 years old. We set up our easels or drawing stations in a semicircle around the model. Usually we start out with fie one-minute poses for warming up, then we move to three five-minute poses, then longer poses. We take breaks during the session and have tea and snacks and have a chance to relax. it's a lot of fun.

Isaac in life drawing class 1

We had a good life drawing class today. Isaac was our model.
