This was my best drawing at life drawing class today. We had four men and four women in addition to our model. Just about right for everyone to get a good view.

I sat down tonight and drew this portrait from this photo. Took me probably 45 minutes. I think I'm getting more comfortable with these portraits, at least it seems like I can get the basic features more quickly and I have a little more confidence.

The fall colors are just a little past their peak right now, and it was a splendid fall day. After life drawing class I made this watercolor of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church on Bainbridge Island. Tomorrow a big storm is moving in and I'm sure all the leaves will be blown off the trees.
There were six of us at life drawing class today -- three men and three women, from maybe 40 to 70 years old. We set up our easels or drawing stations in a semicircle around the model. Usually we start out with fie one-minute poses for warming up, then we move to three five-minute poses, then longer poses. We take breaks during the session and have tea and snacks and have a chance to relax. it's a lot of fun.
