Barge at the Silverdale Waterfront

I made this painting based on the sketch I made of the Silverdale waterfront this afternoon (below).

After swimming laps at the Y, the sun peeked through the clouds and I went down to the waterfront. Saw this barge pulling old creosote pilings out of the bay and had to make a sketch. They're trying to clean up all the sources of old pollution, especially the creosote timbers that continually ooze their poison into the Sound.

A few sketches from coffee shops

I know its very tacky to go to a Starbucks on Bainbridge Island, but it's just so convenient and right near my appointment...I went anyway. And made this sketch of a lovely old couple.

Snatched a quick portrait of this man while he was eating lunch with his wife at the Fork and Spoon in Bainbridge Island.

These are the best of my drawings at life drawing today. Randall was our model.

Life drawing paintings

Paintings from life drawing today.
I like this one because of the way the washes flow through the figure, sort of like Alan Ridley does it, only he does it so much more beautifully.

Old Frontier Road watercolor

I made this watercolor from the sketch in the previous post. I like the shapes and the dark colors. Somehow I got the smaller truck way too small!

Old Frontier Road driveway sketch

More portraits from Starbucks

OK, I know these are too many Starbucks sketches. But I haven't been able to do much else lately.

Life drawing with Gloria

I missed life drawing class last week so I was glad to get back to drawing again. Our model was Gloria, and she was a great model, really fun to draw.

Guy in Bainbridge Bakers

I made a sketch of this guy in Bainbridge Bakers.

I like this little house on Clear Creek. I stopped to make a sketch of it on the way to work one morning.

Emilio Benitez was a presenter at clergy day.
