Lynnwood Center

Made this sketch of Lynnwood Center on Bainbridge Island today.

Terrance

Made one of my better figure paintings today. I like the way the shoulders twist.

Ruddy face in Starbucks

I thought this guy sitting in Starbucks working on his computer had an interesting face.

West Port Madison Road barn

I went to Bainbridge Island early this morning to avoid the work on the Agate Pass bridge. I found this lovely barn on Port Madison Road and made this watercolor.

Shannon

I made this painting at our life drawing session today. The colors are a bit garish, but I like the way they flow together.

Waterfront Park moms and kids

There were lots of families with kids at the Silverdale Waterfront Park on Presidents' Day today, so I stopped and made this watercolor while I enjoyed the sound of kids playing.

Mosher Creek Driveway

On an unseasonably warm February morning, I found this long driveway with tall trees that leads down to a house near Tracyton beach. I spent a pleasant hour painting, and as I was walking back up the road with my watercolor bag on my shoulder, the owner drove up. I think he wasn't too happy about me being on his property until I showed him the watercolor I'd made, and then he warmed up considerably.

Eric Michael's Demo

I painted this using Eric Michaels' demonstration painting.  I learned something from this exercise.

House on Poulson Road

This lovely old farmhouse looks nearly abandoned. It's been patched up recently but it looks like it needs a lot of repairs. Late February afternoon on an unseasonably warm day.

Catherine

Made this painting of Catherine in life drawing class.

Sketches from a day in Seattle

I made these sketches while on a day trip to Seattle for a meeting.

On my way to the standing committee meeting, I made this sketch of a bus rider.

I got to the ferry terminal early, so I made this sketch of a huge crane on Alaskan Way. The operator came over and asked to see my sketch. He was quite garrulous and told me a lot about his crane and his work.

Made this sketch on the ferry of a young man who sort of reminds me of the young Bob Dylan.

Boatshed

I made this watercolor as a part of a workshop by Stella Canfield. I had a lot of trouble with that shadow....I had to scrub it out and start over. I would have liked to have some variation in it, but I'm pleased overall with this piece.

This is a large piece for me, 15 x 22 inches.

Sketches from celebration of new ministry

On February 5, I attended the Celebration of New Ministry for the Rev. Arienne Davison at St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Port Orchard. The tiny church was full of people. I made a sketch of Bishop Rickel as he preached, and a sketch of the choir as they sang.

Starbucks woman

This woman in Starbucks has a strong face.

Clear Creek Trail

On Tuesday mornings I have an hour between my breakfast group and Morning Prayer. This morning I parked near this section of the Clear Creek Trail in Silverdale and made a watercolor.
