There were lots of families with kids at the Silverdale Waterfront Park on Presidents' Day today, so I stopped and made this watercolor while I enjoyed the sound of kids playing.
On an unseasonably warm February morning, I found this long driveway with tall trees that leads down to a house near Tracyton beach. I spent a pleasant hour painting, and as I was walking back up the road with my watercolor bag on my shoulder, the owner drove up. I think he wasn't too happy about me being on his property until I showed him the watercolor I'd made, and then he warmed up considerably.

I made these sketches while on a day trip to Seattle for a meeting.
On my way to the standing committee meeting, I made this sketch of a bus rider.
I got to the ferry terminal early, so I made this sketch of a huge crane on Alaskan Way. The operator came over and asked to see my sketch. He was quite garrulous and told me a lot about his crane and his work.
Made this sketch on the ferry of a young man who sort of reminds me of the young Bob Dylan.

I made this watercolor as a part of a workshop by Stella Canfield. I had a lot of trouble with that shadow....I had to scrub it out and start over. I would have liked to have some variation in it, but I'm pleased overall with this piece.
This is a large piece for me, 15 x 22 inches.

On February 5, I attended the Celebration of New Ministry for the Rev. Arienne Davison at St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Port Orchard. The tiny church was full of people. I made a sketch of Bishop Rickel as he preached, and a sketch of the choir as they sang.
