While visiting my mother in La Junta, Colorado, I made a pencil sketch of the La Junta Mill and then made a watercolor of it. The mill is a picturesque relic of an old feed mill, with lots of activity as ranchers from the surrounding area come to get bags of feed and other ranching necessities.

I made these sketches while on a trip to Seattle for a meeting.
Pike Street Market was full of people buying flowers for Valentine's Day and shopping in the stalls and shops.
This guy had workingman's clothes -- paint-spattered shirt, scuffed jacket, big boots. I like his posture, all gangly and hunched over.
It's not easy to sketch on a shaky bus, but I managed to get this guy's face.
This man was intently focused on his laptop during the ferry crossing.
