I'm an Episcopal priest living in Tracyton, Washington, serving St. Antony of Egypt Episcopal Church in Silverdale, WA. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. Please email me with comments. You can find more of my work on my Flickr page.
As a creative outlet to the demands of my work, I turn to sketches and watercolors. I started my art practice when my boys left home for college in 2006, and I continually strive to improve my technique and broaden my style. My goal is to create excellent portraits, life drawings, and landscapes in a impressionistic style.
Every day I look for interesting subjects to sketch or paint, and I try to capture the impressions of my everyday life. I especially enjoy exploring the back roads of Kitsap County to discover the old farms, buildings, and barns that characterized life here fifty or a hundred years ago.
I attend a life drawing group every Friday morning in Bainbridge Island, where we draw and paint a live model for three hours. I find these sessions extremely stimulating and rewarding, and I 've been improving my skills. I'm also a member of Poulsbo Artist League, a group of artists that meets every Wednesday afternoon.
I'm married to Katy, a professor of anthropology at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, and we have two grown sons, Guy and Chad, who live in Oregon.
